To perform professional mentalism effectively, you need to have a strong ego and nerves to match. You need to spend hours EVERY DAY rehearsing and perfecting your routines. You need to be able to read audiences to understand how they are responding to your material and how best to interact with them.
When you have the opportunity to watch mentalists, try to figure out the persona each performer has adopted and how they the individual effects and routines serve as reinforments of the character they have created.
Before you get on stage, you have to figure out what you are going to say. You cannot depend on improvisational ability to deliver the right words to you every time. You need to write down your material first. After the act is written and learned, THEN you can improvise around it.
Another important thing to work out in your presentations is your timing. Timing is the way and manner that you deliver your lines and your punchlines.
Record every show you do. Review what works and what doesn’t. Get used to it because it is a habit you will want to continue throughout the rest of your performing career.

The magician will use this method to make the audience believe that they are speaking with or conjuring up ghosts. These performances are not really “spiritual” but are meant to look as though they are purely for entertainment purposes. Unfortunately some unscrupulous people have used these techniques to fool people and scam them out of their money.

A mind reading game can shock you with its accuracy. So can magicians. Are they truly reading your mind or is it some trick? Sometimes it is, but not always. There are many online mind reading games. They are fun and intriguing. The challenge is to try and figure out how they work. Can a computer program actually do mind reading?
In most cases it comes down to the right mathematical formula. mind reading games are based on science and probability. It is simply a matter of asking the right questions that lead to a predictable conclusion.
I have participated in mind reading games. Ones where you need to answer a series of questions. Sometimes there is only one possible outcome. Others are based on a predictable pattern of choosing. A lot of work is put into creating the illusion that it was able to read your mind.
What about mind reading in magicians acts? Can magicians read your mind? It sure seems like the can. I have seen magicians know what card or word people have picked. There seems to be no logical explanation for how they can figure things out. Yet there is. With card tricks cards are often marked or handled in such a way that the magician knows what one you picked. It is a slight of hand trick more often than not. Other ways they can read your mind is by reading your body. Some it is using body language. Though one I saw used a person’s pulse rate to determine knowledge.
Does this mean that all mind reading is an illusion? No. There have been too many scientific experiments showing some people have a high accuracy in identifying what someone was thinking. This is usually done with special picture cards. The idea is that one person looks at the card and the person being studied is able to identify what the card is. Some people have an accuracy that is almost statistically impossible. Conclusion is that mind reading is scientifically probable. No one is willing to say it is 100% scientifically proven. However it is quite possible that people are actually reading other peoples thoughts.
