The magic effect:
You have probably seen this magic trick performed many times on television, some people of which claim to use telekinesis or other special magical powers to bend a spoon or other metal object. Maybe they do but i am going to show you how I would perform the magic spoon bending trick, when performed well it will seem as though you have taken a perfectly ordinary household spoon and using only the power of your mind you will be able to make it bend and break as if by magic.
What you will need:
A normal household spoon.
How to do the magic:
First you will need to prepare the spoon for the trick, there a two methods you could use to do this:
1. Cut through the neck of the spoon with a hack saw so there is just a thin piece of metal left at the neck of the spoon holding it together.
2. Bend the spoon back and forth weakening the neck of the spoon (WARNING: when doing this the spoon will become very hot so be careful).
Now that you have your prepared spoon show your audience that the spoon is solid, if prepared right you will still be able to bang it on a solid surface without it breaking. Hold the neck of the spoon between your finger and thumb and start applying a little pressure, with the finger and thumb of your other hand start to lightly wiggle the top of the spoon. You should find that the spoon will start to bend without much effort, the spoon should continue to bend until it breaks as if by magic. Yes it really is that easy.
